G4S Transport to an NHS Hospital Appointment:
If you are unable to use public transport and do not have access to a car Patient Transport is a service provided by G4S on behalf of the NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups across Kent and Medway. It is designed to support you if your medical or physical condition means you cannot use public transport, get a lift, or drive yourself to and from your NHS appointment. Patient Transport is a vital resource for those that need it.

Sevenoaks and surrounding areas are fortunate to be able to access the services of Sevenoaks Volunteer Transport which was founded in 1978, and transports residents to medical appointments, including hospitals, clinics, medical centres, dentists. The service has a reputation for providing a personal, inexpensive service that meets the specific needs of their passengers. Examples of the cost of using this service:

Edenbridge Voluntary Transport Service:
Edenbridge Voluntary Transport Service is a volunteer car service based near the Day Centre at Edenbridge Hospital. Volunteer drivers use their own cars to take people in the area unable to use public transport, to and from medical appointments at hospitals, clinics, surgeries, opticians, dentists etc. All drivers are DBS checked.

Dial-2-Drive: Dial 2 Drive (D2D) is a community transport scheme for people unable to access public transport due to older age, illness or disability living in Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas. Volunteer drivers use their own cars to take clients to medical and social appointments. This includes appointments at local surgeries, hospitals, day centres, hairdressers, opticians, lunch clubs and shopping.
Charges: There is an annual fee of £20 and then 65p per mile with a minimum charge of £5

Tunbridge Wells Community Car Service:
Although the Community Car Service is based in Tunbridge Wells, it also serves the Sevenoaks district. The Community Car Service provides safe transport for people who cannot use public transport. This can be for a variety of reasons including mobility issues, mental disorders, dementia or infirmness due to old age. The service will take the customer to wherever they need to travel to. Medical appointments to doctors, dentists and hospitals including all London hospitals. Social inclusion, day centres, lunch clubs, hairdressers, visiting loved ones that are away from home and shopping.

SMILES Volunteer Transport Service (c/o North West Kent Volunteer Centre). The service covers Sevenoaks District Council’s northern parishes which include Swanley. There is an Annual registration charge of £18 per person. Mileage to the volunteers is paid at 45p per mile (payable to the driver). An administration charge of £4 per trip is paid (payable to the driver).Two to three days’ notice is required when booking.
